About Daintree National Park

Situated in Australia's lush green rainforest is the Daintree National Park, which was the inspiration behind the movie Avatar. How to reach

Take a taxi from Cairns to the Daintree River Ferry (AUD13.90-AUD21.85). Then take a car ferry to the Daintree River Ferry North (AUD13.90). From there, it is at a 28 min drive. Take a taxi to the Daintree National park (AUD2.78-AUD4.17).

  • Carry insect repellant to avoid insect bites
  • Apply and carry sunscreen to avoid sunburns
  • Don't forget your camera
  • Wear a sunshade cap to beat the heat

  • Refreshments will be provided at the Daintree Rainforest Discovery Centre
