About Bab Al-Bahrain

Bab Al-Bahrain is a building known as the entrance for Manama the capital of Bahrain and the original business district. Now however converted into a tourist location, it has gold, handicrafts, furniture, spice, abaya shops, and restaurants that serve local cuisine. The building has been maintained well and gives the tourist a feeling of being transported into the pages of Bahraini history, decorated with traditional lamps and chandeliers. The architecture of this building radiates with traditional walkways and stained windows and arches. A new age shopping district the building has definitely transformed from what it was in the past. A place to enjoy everything Bahrain has to offer, Bab- al-Bahrain does not disappoint.

How to reach

Take Bus 18, 19, A1 to reach Government Avenue 1 bus stop. Walk for 6 minutes to reach Bab Al-Bahrain.
Take a Taxi to reach Bab Al-Bahrain.

  • The place remains closed every day during the prayer time starting from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • You can take pictures here.
  • Smoking or drinking is not allowed.
