About Dhaka

Dhaka is one of the most populous cities in the world.

It is a city with a long history of power and affluence. Under the Mughals, it was the provincial capital and traded in the lucrative muslin business, making it one of the richest cities on the subcontinent. After the British, it became the capital of East Bengal, and later of Bangladesh. This deep history is visible in the beautifully -laid gardens, tombs, mosques, palaces, and forts in the city. These features make art on the canvas of the city's biogeography, particularly the four rivers of Buriganga, Turag, Dhaleshwari, and Shitalakshya on which it sits.

Night Life

As a conservative city, Dhaka's nightlife is restricted and narrow. The main exception is its social clubs, where people gather at the end of the day to relax and power down. These clubs usually have swimming pools, fitness centers, restaurants, and bars. Some popular ones are the Bhaga Club, Hash, House Harriers, and the Nordic Club. The first is reasonably priced, while the other three are more extravagant.
