About Queen's Park

The Queen Park House was home to the British commander and is located in the capital city of Bridgetown. The main house in Queen's Park, constructed in 1783, was originally King's House and now has been converted into a theatre and an exhibition hall. One of the natural attractions in Barbados, Queen’s Park is home for one of the largest trees in Barbados, a baobab tree. Other park features include a fountain and bandstand. Another facet of the Queen's Park is the Barbados Solar House. It is a fully functional home shows how it is feasible to use renewable energy. There’s also a Queen’s Park Art Gallery is the island’s biggest art gallery. It is the home ground of First Division Cricket Team, Spartan Club.  An annual tradition in Barbados known as "Christmas morning in the Park" held on every 25th December where hundreds of people from all walks wearing one's finest clothes are must look for during the stay in Barbados at Christmas.  Another popular event in the Park is the annual Agrofest exhibition, which showcases local agriculture and craft. There are a lot more things to see than just the park on the premises of Queen’s Park.
