About Yungas Road/Death Road Tours

The trip also includes transports, bikes and equipment, guides, videos, photos, and meals. One can buy the service from Sagarnaga Street, near the San Francisco Church in a good haggle price. The World’s Most Dangerous Road also know as La Carretera de los Yungas has become a favorite for mountain bikers who rave about the 40 miles. At La Cumbre, there is a  spectacular view of mountains and many snow-covered peaks including Huayna Potosi. There are also stops for refreshments, photos, and rests along the way and to enjoy the scenic views. On the journey, one can find hulking rock overhangs and cascading waterfalls. At La Senda Verde Cabins and Animal refuge, there are wide varieties of rescued animals like grazing llamas, monkeys, parrots, and snakes.

  • The road is a bit risky so the experience will not be as enjoyable for beginners.

  • Safety equipment (full face helmet, knee, leg, elbow, arm protectors, gloves) are required for riding the bike.
  • Make sure to bring water bottles and snacks.
  • When choosing the company just make sure their equipment is in good condition.
  • Take your own sunglasses to protect your eyes.
  • Don't forget to bring your cameras to capture the views.
  • Wear proper shoes.
