The National Museum of History in Sofia displays a collection of over a half million artifacts throughout Bulgarian history. The building is a typical example of Soviet-era construction, and the Byzantine, Greek and Roman columns and statues create an enthralling atmosphere for visitors. The museum has preserved Bulgarian history from the Thracian time to WW-I and WW-II.
The National Museum of History is less than a 20-minute drive from the city center of Sofia. There is a free parking lot at the entrance of the museum. You can also take public trolleybuses or get there from the blue metro line.
