Touring the silk farm is very interesting and a break away from the temple tours. It is free of cost. The farm deals in silk production. The whole process of silk production is explained by the guides, from the very first stage to the final product. It is very interesting and informative.
It is 20 km from the city center. One can hire taxis, motorbikes, bicycles, tuk-tuks or tour buses. Taxis can be hired for a full day at the cost of $30 for a full day for 2 people. Tuk-tuks can be hired for a full day at the cost of $13 to $16 and can accommodate 4 people. Motorbikes cost for a full day range $3 to $10 and are easily available in the city at all places.
