Housing one of the world's most beautiful libraries, the Morrin Centre has transformed from what is was when it was built over 200 years ago as the city’s first jail in the 18th century and later the city's first English-language college in the late 19th century. As a nationally recognized heritage site and leading English-language cultural center, visitors can have an immersive experience here with guided tours that provide information about the site’s dark but fascinating history. Visit a Victorian library with stunning interiors and over 20,000 books including one which was written with Morrin Centre as its chief setting. In summers, the library staff dress up in Victorian-era clothing and serve traditional afternoon tea to experience a taste of the past.
