About Gu Shan (Solitary Hill)

Surrounded by water, the aptly named Solitary Hill is the perfect balance of beautiful nature and rich Hangzhou history. It has a beautiful landscape, situated at the northwestern corner of West Lake and is the lake's only naturally formed island and one of the lake's biggest islands. It is bordered Bai Causeway on the east, Xi Ling Bridge on the west, the Outer West Lake on the south, and the Inner West Lake on the north and is deeply connected to the story of 'Plum wife and crane son', one of Hangzhou's old historic stories.
