The museum has a good display of Shenzhen history. It has more than 20,000 historical and cultural relics, of which most are from within the city. There are two exhibition halls. The museum has 37,000 sq. meters of floor space, filled with items that give one a peek into the historical and cultural milieu of the country. Also, there are relics from their ancient civilization depicting their stone tools and pottery; exhibits of the cultures of other nations, the several ethnic minorities of China, development of Shenzhen as an economic hub, exhibits of the early settlers, and so on.
