About Vinales Valley

A place of abundant natural beauty, the Vinales Valley is located in Cuba. Sitting snugly in the midst of mountains, the valley tends to defy the stereotypes related to Cuba in a pleasant manner. The community is diverse, multi-cultural, and lives primarily off tobacco farming. Here you will find a Cuba you never imagined existed in all its lush beauty and cultural richness. It is famous for its natural fauna and ‘mogotes’ (or dome-like limestone outcrops). In fact, you might even feel you have traveled back in time to a place with horse-drawn carts and fields plowed by oxen. But these are only some of the many quirks of the site. But if you were looking for traditional Cuba, you will not be disappointed! Vinales, though a little different, still gives the visitors all the essentials they expect out of a true Cuban experience. Be it the colors, the exuberance, or the famous Cuban hospitality. The locals are kind and proud of their Cuban heritage and won’t hesitate to tell you that. Not only that, but Vinales also provides an ‘off-stage’ look at what makes the country so special.
The Vinales Valley also houses the ‘Mural of Prehistory’. Depicting the evolution of life, this colorful mural is painted on a gigantic stone canvas. The valley also provides the perfect place for adventure seekers who can participate in activities such as rock climbing and hiking. Whether you are a history buff or an avid photographer, the Vinales Valley provides something for everyone. This place for all its magnificence has been conferred as being a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. If you ever plan a visit to the Caribbean, be sure to include the Vinales Valley in your itinerary.
