The Pool Malebo, formerly Stanley Pool, also known as Lake Nkunda by local indigenous people in pre-colonial times, is a lake-like widening in the lower reaches of the Congo River. It covers an area of 70 square miles with a depth of 52 feet. There are lots of palm and papyrus swamps along the edges of the river and pool. The area has around 200 species of fish. The ferry ride provides great views of the Congo River. One can enjoy the natural beauty and have solace in the lap of nature.
It is 36 km from the city center. Local taxi fare will cost around 126,750.63 CDF.
