This dam is a spectacular achievement in itself because it is a high dam built on the longest river in the world, the Nile. It is a rock-filled dam on the border between Egypt and Sudan. The reservoir built by the collection of the water by the dam is Lake Nasser. The power stations provided by this dam's water pressure supply electricity to most of Egypt. Visit this place just to see the massive scale that the project undertook and the view it provides, both of the Nile and the villages around it. There are a small visitor center and cafe as well in the complex.
There are many ways you can get to Aswan Dam such as Bus, boat, train, etc that you can take to get to Aswan Dam, Via buses it cost LE100-150 for 8-12 hr ride (513 km), buses leave Aswan at 3:30 PM and 5:30 PM.
