About Medhane Alem Cathedral

The architecture of the cathedral is unique in its own way. This church is a massive structure that will intrigue both those interested in architecture and the faith of the Church. This is the second biggest Church of its kind on the African Continent. The walls of the church are like quite a modern building with a main hall like in Christian Churches elsewhere in the world. You will surely be attracted towards the interior as it is much more colourful with Fresco Images of Saints and Worshippers and stained glass windows. You can see some astonishing paintings inside the Church and the stations of the Cross on the outside are beautiful. The Church itself has 3 domes in green with the rest of the building in a Creamish and White facade. It is situated in Bole in the heart of the Shopping area and it is a huge complex with a primary school also on its premises.
