About National Museum Of Ethiopia

It is Amazing to see the displays and priceless paintings on the top levels with no glass protection. It is interesting to know about the Ethiopian History specially the prehistoric part of Lucy. This museum also has an OLMEC  Head donated from MEXICO. On entering you can see an excellent summary of Ethiopian History, and then a great exhibit upstairs on the various tribes and their cultural differences. The ground floor has imperial items, such as the crowns of Haile Selassie, Menelik II and Yohannes, Haile Selassie's throne, and some prehistoric & classical Ethiopian art. And above there is a small Ethnological exhibit showing Tribal Clothing, Weapons, Agricultural Tools, and Musical Instruments. New varieties of Musical Instruments are a must see .The Leather Couches on the upper floors are by far the most comfortable you will ever see in a museum.
