A magnificent building that speaks of power and control, the Parliamentary Building is one of the most visited tourist spots in Athens. The building has been through 60 years of political instability, but the beauty of the building and architectural brilliance is what keeps tourists pouring in. The building is flanked by a square with the marble statue of Theodoros Kolokotronis (horse-riding), in the middle, after which come the other areas of the parliament, including the old palace with enormous rooms decorated with busts and statues of various personalities who were in power. The next part is the museum, housing several rooms and corridors each dedicated to different points of history in Athens. For a day to delve deep into the history of Athens this is the place every history buff must visit.
