Night Life

Belize city is a place with limited but entertaining nightlife choices. Everyone loves to party, but safety concerns keep visitors away from most clubs, especially the places which are secluded. Karaoke is highly popular among the locals in Belize. Most of the night clubs have karaoke nights where popular numbers are played often. One should plan to encounter a special and unique Belizean style of music: Punta rock. It is a type of traditional music from the Garífuna created using drums, turtle shells, and rattles. There are a hand-full of bars and nightclubs where you can have drinks, but always keep in mind to stay with the crowd. Do not venture out alone during late hours. Take a taxi while traveling around the city at night. If you are renting a car, make sure you park it at a secured location. There are also a few casinos in the city where you can try and get lucky.
