  • on the west side you can find the good view of the falls near the canyon

How to reach

It is about 130 kms from Akureyi. you can take bus number 79 to reach the national park which would cost 2000 ISK. from there book a cab or taxi to reach the falls that would cost 500 ISK

Tips

  • the best time to visit the falls is on summer
  • recommende to take road 862 for a smooth vehicle ride
  • if you choose road 862, you can have free parking and restroom availability on the western side
  • if planned for a hiking, then choose road 864 since it is a gravel road
  • wear hiking shoes since the land will be slippery
  • wear warm clothes if planned for hiking
  • watch the falls from a safer distance
  • there wont be any restaurants and cafe near by
