About Laxmi Narayan Mandir – Hindu Temple (Birla Mandir)

The Laxminarayan temple or the Birla Mandir is a Hindu temple dedicated to God Laxminarayan. It is a visual treat to the eyes from outside as well as inside. The interiors are serene and have a lot of mirror works. The temple was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi and was built by Jugal Kishore Birla between 1933 and 1939. The temples at the side are dedicated to Shiva, Krishna, and Buddha. The temple is located on an area of 7.5 acres, adorned with many shrines, fountains, and a large garden with Hindu and Nationalistic sculptures, and also houses Geeta Bhawan for discourses. It even has a beautiful park attached to it where the visitors can relax and enjoy Indian street food from a small eatery inside the park.
