About Jeti-Oguz Canyon (Seven Bulls Rocks)

The breathtaking view of massive red-brown cliffs resembling seven bulls is rewarding for the eyes. Jeti-Oguz is best known for its hot springs and the medicinally valued water, which is known to cure several diseases. It is enveloped by a valley of wildflowers and a waterfall that is known as “Girl’s Braid”. There is another formation surrounding it called the “Broken Heart,” which, unsurprisingly, is the source of many tragic love stories. In summer, you will pass by many apiaries, selling locally made delicious honey on the roadside.

The mountain’s summit can be reached in 30 minutes, but if you are a hiking enthusiast, there is a 3-hour hike to Kok-Jayik Valley that you may find rewarding. A decent hike through the rocky path that crosses the river leads the way to the scenic, Valley of Flowers. The beautiful green fields cuddled by pine trees make you draw a blank. The high-altitude pastures make it quite a perfect picnic spot for tourists as well as locals. Come spring, the valley is seen brimming with wildflowers, a soothing sight for the sore eyes.

The hike at the Jeti-Oguz is a delight mainly for its peaceful, simple walk and the wonderful scenery en route. In winter, the mountains are wrapped in snow, making it a heavenly experience for the on-lookers. Apparently, this is the most photographed natural landmark in Kyrgyzstan. The canyon is filled with dense forests, interesting wildlife and the person climbing to the top of the canyon can see right through all the wonderful sights. Jeti-Oguz will definitely leave a lasting impression after experiencing all this.
