About Gauja National Park

Established in 1973 Gauja park is the largest park in Latvia. The park, which takes its name from the Gauja River that flows through it. This park is renowned for its many historical structures and the most important, Gauja park covering a neighborhood of 917.45 square km. It stretches over 90000 hectares, protecting the foremost beautiful section of the Gauja valley along the Gauja River between Valmiera and Murjani.
