About Taman Negara

Taman Negara is a national park that is situated in Malaysia. This park is large in terms of square meters because it covers an area of around 4343 square km. The heritage of this national park is upheld by the ancient deciduous trees that make up its rainforest. The incredible things that can be enjoyed at the national park include bird watching,  understanding the various flora and fauna at the tropical rainforest, trekking, and more.

One thing that makes this park unique is the fact that one can enjoy great views of the Tahan River. The park is so large that it covers three states, which are Kelantan, Pahang, and Terengganu. Taman Negara is a national park that is also unique because of the rare types of mammals that it has as well as exotic birds. It is a great place where tourists go and become one with nature. By taking the canopy walks, one will experience the rare feel of the jungle. The Tahan River is also an important part of the park as it harbors a rare type of game fish called the Malaysian Mahseer. By going to this park, you can be assured of a oneness with nature.

How to reach

If you are a first-time visitor, the best way to get to Taman Negara is by booking a van transfer via phone when you are in Kuala Lumpur city

These are daily vans that take visitors to the park at a fee of RM 90 per person

You can also book for a taxi from Kuala Lumpur at a fee of RM 550 to RM 750

 A taxi is the best option for those who are traveling in a group and for families

Tips

  • Try our various local dishes at the nearby cafes and restaurants
  • Visit the parks in the dry months of March and April
  • Go for the canopy walk, as it will offer you a better view of birds and monkeys
  • Learn the skill of shooting a blowpipe from the indigenous tribes
  • When you go hiking, carry a map
  • Take a night safari to have a view of nocturnal creatures in the park
  • Store electronics and other valuables in waterproof places
  • Put on comfortable shoes when you walk on the trails
  • Put on trousers or long socks to avoid leeches
  • Carry water and some snacks
