About Erg Chebbi

"The world has many wondrous sights to see, but few can be experienced like the Erg Chebbi in Morocco. It is one of several ergs in the country. The red desert sand has been blown into massive dunes like this one. Some of the dunes of Erg Chebbi are 150 m (450 ft) high.

Be sure to stay at one of the hotels and auberges near that operate along the dunes. Experience the desert nomad lifestyle by taking an overnight trip to one of the permanent camps into the erg. Ride by camel away from the hotels and luxury amenities to spend a night surrounded by the red sand and expansive night skies.

If you happen to suffer from rheumatism, you can join Moroccans and be buried neck-deep in the hot sand. A few minutes could leave you feeling better."
