About Shwe In Bin Kyaung

One of the most beautiful and underrated monasteries, The Shwe In Bin Kyaung monastery is finally getting the fame and recognition it deserves thanks to the internet for giving it the deserved recognition. The monastery is a welcome change from the usual traditional gold covered decorations of Burmese monasteries. The rich and incredibly detailed teak architecture gives the monastery a very distinct and regal look. The richness of the architecture is only stumped by the history of the monastery and is definitely something worth checking out. The wooden structure of the monastery gets degraded faster due to the exposure to sunlight and getting wet and dry frequently. This needs to be rectified by painting at regular intervals and is quite well looked after by the monks living in the monastery. The monks here use funds from donations to take care of the Shwe In Bin Kyaung.

If you are interested in seeing genuine detailed architecture, Shwe In Bin Kyaung is one of the best places to visit. It is barely crowded and very easily accessible, so it is a good place to visit at any time of the day. The monastery has a very calm atmosphere and you can enjoy meditation at the specified meditation area. The Buddha statues in the main room are worth watching because these are among the very few golden things in the monastery. Gold statues inside a wooden room give a divine look. The amazing architecture work and even better preservation give the monastery an elegant look even after 100 years of its construction. It was actually constructed in 1895 by a Sino-Burmese merchant, following the traditional rules of Burmese monastic architecture. The Shwe In Bin Kyaung monastery is worth visiting the site and a truly underrated gem.
