About The Norwegian Museum of Cultural History

Norsk Folkemuseum shows the day-to-day life of the Norwegian people from 1500 to the present through its collections from around the country. The largest cultural museum of Norway, Norsk Folkemuseum boasts 160 buildings in an open-air setting. Each building represents different regions in Norway, different time periods, as well as differences in classes.  There are many medieval buildings in this museum, like the Gol Stave Church dating back to 1200. Throughout the exhibitions and projects, this museum presents the contemporary history of Norway. The museum offers exhibitions which include folk art, folk costumes, and toys. Numerous exhibitions happen all year round.
