About Old Town, Warsaw

Surrounded by the city walls, the Old Town is a maze of narrow cobbled streets and wide squares. Visiting the Old Town is a journey back in time and this makes it a must-see attraction. Warsaw had always remained one of the world’s finest cities exhibiting art and architecture for centuries. Then, WWII happened and the Nazis brought this city to ashes! And later this city vowed to regain the exact shape it had in the pre-World War II era. The reconstruction of the old town is an amazing human marvel, so precise that it is exactly the mirror image of the pre-war period. This remarkable feat was recognized by the UNESCO who in 1980 added the Warsaw Old Town to its list of World Heritage Sites. Warsaw stands as the perfect example of what humans are capable of! It is now a tourist attraction and has many restaurants, cafes, and souvenir shops while the squares are home to beautiful Christmas markets. Kudos! This place is for every history and architecture buff! Must visit.
