About Museum of Islamic Art, Doha

The Museum of Islamic Art opened in 2008 and perfectly captures the Islamic culture through the architecture of the building as well as the collection of Islamic art. It has the most extensive collection of Islamic art in the world. You will get to see a collection of fabrics, coins, glassware, jewelry, books, and manuscripts. It is a beautiful experience to be here and to feel like you have gone back in time. The view from here across the water is stunning!

How to reach

Take bus number 76 from Doha City Center and get down at the Fishing Point station. It's about 10 mins walking distance from there.

Take a taxi via Al Corniche St.; it will drive you to your destination.

  • Dress up decently as entry to some visitors may be denied if their arms and legs are not appropriately covered.
  • Do not carry big luggage with you as it gets inconvenient to move around with them and is not allowed at certain places.
  • It's less crowded in the morning.
  • Do not take photos where not allowed.
  • Carry an ample amount of water to stay hydrated.
  • Wear comfortable footwear and clothes to avoid any inconvenience.
