Have you ever felt you are in a Sci-Fi movie? If not, head to the UFO Bar & Restaurant located on the pillars of the Bratislava New bridge. It is one of the most popular destinations in the city, situated close to Old Town. The gigantic pillars and the structure itself looks like a glimpse into the future. The tower houses a restaurant that serves amazing cuisine and has a fully loaded bar. The view from atop the restaurant is breathtaking and is worth every bit you spend on the expensive menu. If you want to skip the restaurant, you can pay a small fee and go to the observation deck. There are many telescopes where you can take a sneak-peek into the beautiful city below. The best time to visit the UFO is after dark. The dimly lit restaurant, the soothing view of the river flowing below and the city lights glittering like a million stars will give you goosebumps for sure.
Take tram 2 to Blumentál from the city center. From here, hop on bus route 94 and get off at Zochova. You will need to walk for 10 minutes (1.1 km) to reach the UFO.
The whole trip will take around 30 minutes. You can also take tram 4 to Kamenné námestie. After you get off, walk for 1.8 km towards Staromestská to reach the bridge and UFO. Buy a ticket for 60 minutes that costs EUR 1.20; this ticket is good for almost all journeys within Bratislava. You can also travel with a ticket for 15 minutes for EUR 0.70 or a ticket for 30 minutes for EUR 0.90. For pets, bicycles or large luggage, you need to purchase a ticket for .35 cents and this is valid for 180 minutes.
It is 9 km from the city center and can be reached by car. Go via Route 61. Take E571/E58/E75 to Panónska cesta in Petržalka. Take the Route 61 exit from E571/E58/E75 and drive towards the bridge. It will cost you around 5 EUR.
