About Lake Manyara National Park

"Welcome to Lake Manyara National Park. Covering a surface of over 230 square km, it’s easy to see why the park was named after the lake - literally.

Lake Manyara National Park boasts an incredible amount of wildlife. Visitors can see migrating wildebeest, zebras, warthogs, gazelles, impalas, elephants, leopards, spotted hyenas, honey badgers, and so many more.

Despite all the different species, the park is famous for only three. The park is known for its abundant baboon population, where there are large troops of baboons that are often seen during safari rides. It’s also known for the flamingo population, where flocks of thousands gather around the lake. For many years, Lake Manyara National Park was famous for having one of the only two lion prides on the continent that were known to climb trees.

Visitors who have already been on safaris, or have had animal viewings by boat, Lake  Manyara National Park has a “Treetop Walkway” where you can walk through the tree canopy looking for monkeys and birds.

Take a walk up in the wild side at Lake Manyara National Park."
