About Mount Chimaera

Mount Chimera is site is located in Cirali, turkey with the bunch of fires burning from inside the rocks. The phenomenon called Yanartaş, or 'Burning Rock' in Turkish is seen on Mt Olympus. It's an exceptional view especially in the evening and totally acceptable to relate to the stories of monsters prevalent in the ancient local people. For those interested in geology and would like to see a natural source of fire, it is a place to be. To be in the place and understand the mythology behind it would be another experience which is one-of-a-kind. Extensive studies show that the small fires at sites also called as Yanartas or flaming rocks occur due to the methane that seeps through the vents in the rock. Scientifically it's no miracle yet to witness this sight in person is an unbelievable experience.
