The Nommo Gallery was found and established in the year 1964. This is constructed as per the 1959 Act of Parliament. It is the best art gallery in Kampala and also Uganda’s National Art Gallery. This is a must-see gallery since it's also a component of the Uganda National Cultural Centre (UNCC). Here you can get the opportunity to see different artworks from great artists from Ugandan and other countries too. This is also located in an easy to access location just next to the State Lodge at Nakasero. You get to see a lot of impressive art masterpieces like batiks (tie-and-dye), paintings, art prints, ceramics, sculptures, and photographs. If you are an art lover, your visit to Kampala would be incomplete without visiting this wonderful museum.
Each painting has its own specialty, so it is recommended to see all the attractions.
It's 4.1 km from the city center and takes 11 minutes to reach there. Take a boda-boda to reach there. The fare is 2050 UGX.
