About High Castle Park

How does a peaceful and romantic holiday sound to you? Good! Then, you want to go to the High Castle Park in Lviv. This is a beautiful, scenic location that one visits for the sheer experience of wonder and amazement. We highly recommend taking the hike up to this scenic park.

Founded in 1835, the High Castle Park is a beautiful and green park, located on the Knyazha or Castle Hill. It includes the ancient settlement of the city, grotto, sculptures of lions, and the actual remains of the High Castle (in turn, built in the 13th Century on the Castle Hill). To reach the park, you would have to walk along the steep road of Ulitsa Zamkova or go via the Ulitsa Maxima Krivonosa.

The High Castle Park’s entrance is well kept and surrounded by many small trees. Since it is a famous tourist destination, there are a few shops where you can indulge in for some good old shopping-therapy. Be sure to satisfy your hunger pangs by visiting the restaurant near the park. In case, you are feeling adventurous, then you can climb over 300 rusty old steps, on a winding metal staircase, to go up to the Lviv High Castle on the hill. The walkway up the hill includes a walk along a narrow path, winding around the steep hill! But for those who do climb up, it sure has its perks. The High Castle Hill, 413 meters above sea level, is the best vantage point for a panoramic view of Lviv!
