About Sitori- i Mokhi Khosa

Sitorai Mokhi Khosa Palace

The palace of Moon-like starts as the name depicts, it rests on the outskirts of Bukhara city. And so does its architecture and craftsmanship. A short while ago, this palace was the summer residence of the Bukhara Emirs'. Surrounded by haze gardens and peacock community, this palace speaks for itself. The palace is never hot even in the blazing sun times. The location and base of the palace have been very carefully chosen as per the Asian methods. The palace was completed in the reign of Muzaffar Khan and dedicated this palace to his as his wife's residence. The palace has a mix of western and eastern architecture. The wife of the Emir died young and so the Emir poetically named Palace of Moon-like Stars-like.

The decoration of the throne, the beautification of the reception hall is breathtaking. Exclusive mirror work, rich traditional murals on gaunch stucco walls, Chinese porcelain and Japanese vases, a huge number of decorative glasses are some of the USPs' of the palace. If you are visiting alone, the peacocks will surely give you company.

There is also a guest house by the name of The Princess Olga's Pavilion. The restoration of the walls of the guest house has been done with 4 kgs of gold leaves.
