About Armoury Chamber

The Armoury Chamber is found in the Grand Kremlin’s palace complex that was built by the famous architect Konstantin Ton in 1851. One may find himself surrounded by precious treasures initially owned by the Tsar and the Patriarch that makes up the Armoury’s collection, which is a mixture of items produced in the Kremlin workshops as well as gifts given by the ambassadors. The museum collection in itself harbors artifacts and art pieces from all over European and Eastern countries, which is why it is widely known as one of the greatest museums around the world. It also provides visitors with a taste of traditional Russian culture, such as exhibiting examples of ancient royal garments and coronation dresses, gold and silver utensils as well as Russian armory and carriages that perfectly reflect Russia’s history.

How to reach

The quickest way is to take a taxi or car which will take approximately 1 minute to reach the place.
By walk, it will take 4 minutes.

Tips

  • The Armoury Chamber is open for public daily except on Thursday.
  • There can be a queue at the security checkpoint. 
  • Online to ticket booking is possible not earlier than 17 days prior to your visit.
  • Audio-guide is available (in Russian, English, French, German and Italian). A pledge of 1,500 Rubles is required for each device.
  • Accessibility and service for visitors with physical disabilities,
  • Photography and video recording at the Armoury Chamber are prohibited.
  • It is forbidden to bring large-size baggage, ski, sleds, snowboards, scooters, hoverboards, bicycles, except for children's strollers and baby carriages.
  • A Museum shop for souvenir gifts is available at the Alexander Garden which is open daily from 9.00 a.m. to 18.00 p.m.
  • Online tickets need to be changed into print outs from the Kremlin Ticket Office in Alexander Gardens.
