About Petrohue Waterfalls

Petrohue waterfalls are located in the upper section of the Petrohue River in Chile. The waterfall is found within the Vicente Perez Rosales National Park. One spectacular and unique aspect for those who want to visit this park is the fact that there is a route to go in, which gives you the chance to walk around as you view the sights. The view of this waterfall is absolutely magical and picturesque. This is because the waterfall flows from the Osorno volcano, which makes the view quite interesting. When it is not raining, the force of this waterfall is at 270 m3.

However, the rainy season is the time when this waterfall comes to life because the water levels are much higher, and the flow of water is more intense. The water enters this waterfall  from the Lake Todos Ios Santos. The water in this lake has a greenish colour, and this gives the waterfall a beautiful sight that can be a treat to the visitors. However, there are usually lahars that come from the volcano, and when this happens, the flowing water is filled with silt and sand. This silt and sand is also an attribute that explains the polished nature of the rocks at this site. If you are lucky during the visit, you may see some torrent ducks that are seen on the waters together with their chicks, and this can be a calming sight. Once you are at these falls, you will enjoy the cool showers of water that cascade from the falls. It is truly a place in nature where you can feel truly rejuvenated and relaxed.
